Folks keep asking me how the kids' French is coming along. Well, they're making progress for sure but with only 40 minutes of instruction a day, fluency is a long way off. But, it seems, there are other aspects of la vie Parisienne that are sinking in. The other day, my eight year old asked, "Mom, do you know the real name of 'channel'?" (Or at least that's how I heard it.)
Me: "Ummmm...no."
Newly fashion conscious child: "It's Coco Channel."
I had no idea that couture was part of the third grade curriculum. Too bad most of her wardrobe comes from Lands End.
