Decor Gone Wild

There's a whole lot of busy going on here on this house at 27 and 27bis Quai Anatole France, just two steps from the Musee d'Orsay. The work of architect Richard Bouwens, the building was constructed in 1905. Sure wonder what's going on inside. Then again, it might give me a migraine. I'll just imagine.

My sisters just came back from Barcelona, Spain. They brought back many pics of homes designed by Antoni Gaudi.

it is from his style/designs that we think of the word- gaudy: "ostentatiously or tastelessly ornamented."

Perhaps the owners of this house are have been there?

I could be wrong, but I think this used to be part of a rather posh hotel many years ago.

Anne, that last photo is gorgeous, I love the overlapping circles. What material is that?

Thanks for showing this! A fantastic building which I have completely missed although I always try to keep my eyes open for this type of buildings!

Shelli: No clue really. It's pressed and stamped but I don't know what materials you can do that with. Any engineers and architects lurking out there?
