My First Ever Readers' Contest
Something's amiss in this sign, which I spotted on the platform for the RER A at the Charles de Gaulle — Étoile stop. The first person to correctly identify the error wins the glory and maybe a prize. That is, if I can think of something suitable. Regrettably I don't have much free swag lying about. An Eiffel Tower keychain? A jar of that sinful Speculoos spread? A bootlegged CD of my favorite French/American musical classics?
Leave your answer in the comments section by 8:00 a.m. Paris time on Wednesday the 27th and let's see how it goes. I'm going to change the settings on the comments section so you won't see your answer until all have come in.
Ready, set, go!

well spotted, I don't know if I would have had noticed it...the colours are inverted! line 1 is yellow and line 6 is green
An easy one : colors inverted between the 6 and the 1 numbers ! but then I'm a Parisian... Although currently far away.
Is the no. 1 line supposed to be yellow? Patricia
P.S. I enjoy reading your posts about life in Paris, you give lots of interesting info!
The colors are wrong...
Line 1 should be yellow, line 6 green, not the other way around.
Don't they usually put the names of both terminus when they give the metro number? I have no clue and I live in Paris.
I am a long time admirer of this blog and hope that you will carry on enjoying writing it as much as I have appreciated reading it. Best regards
Ooh that would confuse me too if I was in a rush - the 1 and the 6 colors are switched!
If I win "all" I would like is the contact number of an awesome real estate agent or a listing leading to the perfect apartment. ;-)
The colours of the numbers! Line 1 should be yellow and 6 green!
Nice mistake you spotted there, hehehe!
the metro colors are wrong! line 1 is yellow.
Cheers and keep up the good work, your blog is very interesting. Andrea
The colours are the wrong way around, line 1 = yellow, line 6 = green. That would really throw me if I was in a hurry.
Thank you for a fabulous blog.
Rachael
colors are reversed on the 1 and 6 lines.

Hi just a guess, is there a line missing? Paris metro line 2.
The colors are wrong -- line one is usually yellow, and six is green. Thanks for this fun game!
Good eye - the metro line colors are mixed up! (ie the 1 should be yellow and the 6 green)
Hi,
Line 1 should be yellow and Line 6 should be green! Wow, surprised at this mistake!

The colors of the lines are switched! The 6 should be green and the 1 yellow.
line 1 should be yellow and the line 6 blue/green!
shouldn't the number 6 line say Nation and Charles de Gaulle Etoile...they usually show both ends.
that's my guess...
The colors appear to be incorrect--line 1 should be yellow and line 6 should be light green.
The colors of the lines are wrong. Line 1 should be yellow and line 6 should be green.
Line 1 is yellow and line 6 is green - normally!
Hi! I believe that the line colours are mistaken - the line number one is yellow and number 6 is green. Greetings from Portugal!
Isn't the 1 line yellow and the 6 line is green? I'm just taking a guess here. The last time I was in Paris was a year ago...but I used to take the 1 line all the time when I studied there. Anyway - thanks for the contest, it's a lot of fun!
Sitting here in Charleston, SC with my Metro map, the first thing I noticed was that Line 1 should be yellow and Line 6 green.
It seems that they are reversed on the sign.
Hope this is the answer. Hey, I'll be in Paris in April, so if there's a prize and I'm the winner, I could pick it up then!
the M1 should be yellow and the M6 should be green

I don't see anything wrong unless it has something to do with the Parc Auto, but I've never used that stop so I don't know what's there. If the Parc Auto is a carpark, then there seems to be a spelling mistake.
The colors are swapped. Line 6 should be green and line 1 should be yellow.
Line 6 should be green, line 1 should be yellow. :)
the la defense/#1 sign should be yellow
and the #6/nation sign should be green
the line 6 is green that yellow is for the line 1!
Hmmmm... there's only one direction for line 6?
wrong colours for the lines - Line 1 is yellow and 6 is a sort of green colour (I think - I know 1 is yellow as I use it a lot)
Eli
The colors are wrong on the lines- the 1 line should be yellow, the 6 line should be green.
Are the colors mixed up #1 is yellow and #6 is green?
I think the colors are mixed up?? Yellow should be for #1 and green for #6
I spent a good five minutes here, but NO, I can't find the error!! Will check Wednesday! :-)
The colors are reversed! Line 1 should be yellow and Line 6 should be green.
I returned in July from a years sabbatical in Paris with my family. I enjoy reading your blog and reliving our time vicariously through you.
Allison
The colors of the metro lines are mixed up! It should be yellow for the 1 and greenish/turquoise for the 6!
Hello! The error is in the color of the subway lines. They are swapped.
M 1 La Défense - Chateau de Vincennes is yellow and M 6 Nation is green.
As a frequent rider of metro lines 1 and 6, it is obvious to me. Line 1 is the yellow line, and 6 is the green line.
The metro for number one should be yellow, while the metro for number six should be green?
love your blog,
Sarah
On the sign, line 1 should be yellow; and line 6 should be green. My husband pointed this out to me, after I had agonized way too long without spotting anything awry.
Terry
Aren't the colors for the lines reversed? M1 is supposed to be yellow. I'm not so familiar with M6. Great eye! I would never have spotted this without having my attention called to it.
PS If I win the prize I choose tea at L'Oisive Thé? (or your choice, I pay!) sometime within the next year.
Unless....you're referring to the fact that the indication for the ligne 6 states 'par Denfert-Rochereau instead of indicating the beginning and ending stops.'
color?? line 1 is NOT GREEN - but rather yellow. that stuck out at first but I will re read to see if its something in the writing?
